Sr. Software Engineer, Ruby on Rails

About the role

CentralReach is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help shape technical direction and lead projects within the Essentials squad. The role involves hands-on development using Ruby on Rails, TypeScript, and React, while mentoring team members and integrating AI-assisted engineering workflows. You will design scalable back-end systems and responsive front-end experiences to support the company's mission in autism and IDD care software.

Responsibilities

• Help shape technical direction on the Essentials squad by contributing to architecture decisions and unblocking teammates.
• Lead by example in the codebase by writing clean, maintainable code and conducting thoughtful code reviews.
• Design and optimize back-end systems, APIs, and data flows with a focus on performance and reliability.
• Build modern, responsive front-end experiences using React, TypeScript, and CSS.
• Work across relational databases to write efficient SQL and shape data models.
• Lead projects end-to-end, balancing hands-on development with guiding others to successful delivery.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and QA to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Identify and prototype opportunities to apply LLMs and automation to engineering and internal workflows.

Qualifications
