Head of Security

About the role

Tremendous is seeking its first Head of Security to own the company's security posture end-to-end. This is a player-coach role where you will initially perform hands-on security work while defining the strategy and future team structure. You will report to the VP of Engineering and work closely with the engineering team to implement security measures across production infrastructure and code.

Responsibilities

• Own Tremendous' security posture end-to-end, partnering with our engineering team on production infrastructure and code security.
• Assess where we have gaps, prioritize them, and tackle our highest-leverage gaps first.
• Treat incident response as core, not afterthought.
• Drive security as a cultural shift across the company, introducing controls incrementally.
• Lead our AI-security posture, managing risk while enabling the use of AI tooling.
• Define when and how to staff up the security function, and hire your own team.
