Engineering Manager - Cloud Platform & Operations

About the role

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage a team of Cloud and Site Reliability Engineers to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our cloud operations. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, manage operational workloads, and align the team's vision with the platform engineering roadmap. This role involves collaborating across value stream squads to deliver high-quality tools for code quality and security.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Cloud Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
• Hold the team accountable to high engineering standards, focusing on system reliability, performance, and security.
• Manage the team’s operational workload, including on-call health, incident response, and the reduction of manual toil through automation.
• Foster a safe culture of feedback and continuous improvement, encouraging blameless post-mortems.
• Collaborate with other value stream squads to ensure the production platform meets developer needs while maintaining strict governance.
• Communicate a clear vision for the squad that aligns with the platform engineering roadmap, focusing on resiliency, business continuity, and cost optimization.
• Partner with the hiring team to recruit talented engineers and improve the hiring process.
• Lead by example, modeling behaviors of servant leadership and high-stakes decision-making.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on SRE, Cloud Operations, or Infrastructure Engineering
