Engineering Manager - Cloud Platform & Operations

About the role

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and manage a team of Cloud and Site Reliability Engineers to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of SonarQube Cloud and Server. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement, manage operational workloads, and align your team's vision with the broader platform engineering roadmap. This role involves mentoring team members, driving automation to reduce manual toil, and collaborating across squads to support the company's mission in AI code review and verification.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of Cloud Engineers and Site Reliability Engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
• Hold the team accountable to high engineering standards, focusing on system reliability, performance, and security.
• Manage the team’s operational workload, including on-call health, incident response, and the reduction of manual toil through automation.
• Foster a safe culture of feedback and continuous improvement, encouraging blameless post-mortems and architectural insights.
• Collaborate with other value stream squads to ensure the production platform meets developer needs while maintaining strict governance.
• Communicate a clear vision for the squad that aligns with the platform engineering roadmap, focusing on resiliency, business continuity, and cost optimization.
• Partner with the hiring team to recruit talented engineers and improve the hiring process.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on SRE, Cloud Operations, or Infrastructure Engineering
