About the role

This Staff-level role focuses on building the next generation of network automation platforms for the PlayStation Network. You will lead the transition from specialist-driven workflows to reliable, declarative software platforms by designing control-plane services, APIs, and intent-based controllers. The role involves significant technical influence, requiring you to set architectural direction, solve complex distributed-systems problems, and mentor engineers across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and architectural direction for network automation and infrastructure control platforms.
  • Use domain-driven design to establish shared language and turn agreements into versioned, testable contracts.
  • Design and build APIs, services, controllers, and reconciliation workflows for production infrastructure.
  • Build on the Kubernetes API, including custom resources and control loops.
  • Own the operational Kubernetes path including CRD rollout, RBAC, and controller health.
  • Design distributed workflows that operate correctly under eventual consistency and partial failure.
  • Develop patterns for multi-tenant infrastructure platforms including tenant isolation and policy enforcement.
  • Lead complex migrations and modernization of existing automation and services.
