Staff Data Scientist - Ads Measurement, Signals, Privacy

About the role

Reddit is seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join the Ads Data Science team to advance the intelligence powering the advertiser experience. This role involves taking ownership of high-impact problem spaces including measurement, identity, and signal quality. The successful candidate will influence strategic direction, set technical standards, and drive cross-functional initiatives across the Ads organization.

Responsibilities

• Design the Future of Ads Identity: Develop/employ probabilistic models for identity resolution and design methodology that links on-platform and off-platform actions.
• Advance Lift Methodologies & Experimentation: Own the statistical rigor behind Brand and Conversion Lift products and innovate experimental design.
• Maximize Signal for Predictive Performance: Define the strategy for new signal sources, quantify their value, and work with modeling teams to improve bidding efficiency.
• Define Ground Truth & Evaluation Frameworks: Solve industry-wide challenges in validating identity and measurement by designing objective functions and truth sets.
• Lead Through Cross-Functional and Technical Influence: Collaborate with engineering, product, and sales to align on strategic goals and mentor others on best practices.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or Operations Research
• 10+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science for M.S. holders
• 6+ years of industry experience in applied science or data science for Ph.D. holders
