About the role
Hudson River Trading is seeking a Research Data Engineer to join their Data team. You will be responsible for the end-to-end development of onboarding, cleaning, validating, and normalizing vendor data to support alpha research and trading strategies. You will work directly with researchers to build high-quality datasets and ensure service reliability through rigorous monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Onboard, normalize, and featurize datasets for statistical modeling research
- Serve as the subject matter expert for datasets you onboard, building expertise in some area of data
- Partner with the sourcing team to identify and evaluate new data procurement opportunities
- Analyze data to identify and improve alpha
- Manage the full end-to-end data pipeline, from raw vendor ingestion to refined feature sets
- Provide on-call support for data issues during normal business hours
- Design and implement automated data quality checks and monitoring alerts
