About the role

The Director of Engineering for Frontend Technologies will lead the frontend domain within the Marketplace unit, focusing on strategic architectural shifts and organizational efficiency. You will guide a team of engineering managers and staff engineers to modernize frontend platforms, improve developer velocity, and enhance user satisfaction across web and mobile applications. This role requires influencing cross-functional leaders to implement long-term technical strategies while maintaining operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead a horizontal, platform-focused domain containing Android, iOS, Web, and Design System teams.
• Set and drive the future technology strategy for frontends, establishing a modular, scalable architecture.
• Influence leaders of 9 product domains to prioritize platform-wide changes across 40+ teams.
• Oversee Marketplace-wide technical tooling, core libraries, frameworks, and native automated testing.
• Elevate global UI quality by integrating design systems and accessibility into the frontend ecosystem.
• Ensure resilience and reliability through robust release processes and performance monitoring.
