About the role

Project Q is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the technical direction of their Hydris orchestration products. You will design and build systems that integrate heterogeneous real-world sensors and mission systems into a coherent tactical IoT backbone. This role focuses on distributed systems, protocol architecture, and API design for environments that are bandwidth-constrained and intermittently connected.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build core engine systems using Go.
  • Evolve schemas and API designs for sensor and mission system integration.
  • Architect peer-to-peer mesh and federation layers for disconnected environments.
  • Solve complex coordination problems including conflict resolution and entity state consistency.
  • Set technical standards for testing, protocol versioning, and backward compatibility.
  • Review code with a focus on long-term maintainability and operational correctness.
