About the role
Octopus Energy is looking for a motivated finance professional to work closely with the Group Corporate Finance Director. You will be responsible for delivering key accounting advice and implementation for high-importance areas of the group, including fundraising, M&A, new geographies, and internal restructures.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical accounting, financial advice and support for the most important strategic projects within the business, including in relation to debt facilities, key contracts, intercompany activity, and M&A
- Provide technical accounting advice to the group and business units within the audit process
- Ensure implementation of accounting excellence across the group covering a broad spectrum of new developments and initiatives in the group
- Lead on accounting for due diligence on M&A activities
- Work closely with our treasury, capital markets, legal and tax teams on project implementations
- Work closely with Group Reporting and auditors to ensure that any new projects are accurately disclosed in the financial statements
- Work, where necessary, with external advisors to support on key projects and for select pieces of advice
