Energy Commercial Expert

About the role

The Energy Commercial Expert will act as the energy trust layer throughout the sales cycle for the German market. This pre-sales role involves running discovery, delivering workshops, building business cases, and managing RFP responses to accelerate deals with German energy retailers. You will combine deep German energy-market expertise with analytical skills to turn technical and commercial complexity into compelling, winnable cases.

Responsibilities

• Lead the solution and domain side of complex German opportunities, working closely with Account Executives on deal strategy to grow new ARR.
• Run discovery workshops with senior practitioners and executives, framing pain in the customer's own commercial and regulatory language.
• Build business cases and value narratives that connect Gorilla's capability to measurable margin, risk and efficiency outcomes.
• Own the domain-heavy sections of RFP and RFI responses and help shape the win theme.
• Work with CSMs and Account Managers to surface new use cases and cross-sell opportunities, driving NRR growth.
• Ensure smooth presales-to-delivery handover, setting realistic expectations and protecting customer trust.
• Share patterns from your deals, such as loss reasons, product gaps and German regulatory shifts, with Product and leadership, with a recommendation attached.
• Support and mentor Sales Engineers on complex use cases and tailored demos, and collaborate with Marketing on insightful content.
