Head of Accounting

About the role

The Head of Accounting is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant accounting across all Matrix42 entities while leading and developing a team of accounting professionals. The role oversees day-to-day accounting operations, manages the month-end closing process, supports the preparation of statutory financial statements, and drives continuous improvement within the accounting function.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing international accounting team across multiple locations.
• Oversee the timely preparation of high quality consolidated financial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis in accordance with IFRS.
• Ensure the accurate and timely recording of journal entries, including revenue recognition in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
• Support the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements, IFRS reporting packages, and audit deliverables for the group audit.
• Drive the standardization and continuous improvement of accounting policies, controls, and processes across all Group entities.
• Prepare and deliver financial reporting packages for banks, shareholders, investors, and other key stakeholders.
• Act as primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors as well as other external and internal parties.
• Manage and oversee the month-end closing process, including variance analysis and reporting.
• Ensure the timely reconciliation and alignment of intercompany positions.
• Establish, maintain and continuously enhance audit guidelines and processes.
