Senior Engineer, Autonomy and Motion Planning

About the role

The Autonomy team in the UK is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the delivery of autonomous behaviors for unmanned platforms. This role involves architecting, designing, and implementing mission autonomy software across the entire product lifecycle to enable complex operations with minimal human supervision. You will act as a technical lead and individual contributor, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of safe and effective capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop tactical autonomy software for unmanned platforms across air, land, sea, and space domains.
• Implement and test behaviors for multi-agent coordination, target engagement, and survivability.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle from requirements capture to validation.
• Architect behaviors as scalable software subsystems that interact with sensor processing, state estimation, and actuation components.
• Collaborate with vehicle integration teams and operational subject matter experts to align on system requirements.
• Act as a subject matter expert for software engineering in a multi-stakeholder environment.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years' experience in software sub-system scheduling and integration, behavior planning, task and resource allocation, motion planning, optimization, or flight controls
