LLM Scientist, AI for Science

About the role

The LLM Scientist will develop and optimize large language models, agentic AI, and deep learning frameworks to address complex challenges in natural sciences such as biology, chemistry, physics, and materials science. This role involves end-to-end model training, designing data workflows, and collaborating with domain experts to translate AI advancements into scientific impact. The position focuses on pushing the boundaries of AI-driven discovery through model-centric innovation and interdisciplinary research.

Responsibilities

• Participate in end-to-end training of LLM-based solutions with a focus on scalability and scientific applicability.
• Design original workflows to accumulate high-quality scientific data at scale through synthetic or crowdsourced pipelines.
• Develop and improve reinforcement learning or agentic systems tailored to natural sciences challenges.
• Work closely with domain scientists to identify AI opportunities and refine models based on feedback.
• Contribute to company infrastructure to improve usability for model training in scientific contexts.
• Set a research agenda for AI in science by exploring high-risk and high-reward ideas.
