About the role
The Mechanical Engineer will drive product optimization initiatives for surgical system instruments, focusing on cost reduction, manufacturing efficiency, and continuous improvement. This role involves component and tooling design, impact analysis, and root cause investigation of clinical complaints and non-conformities within a highly regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Specify, design, prototype, and implement mechanical components and custom tooling with a focus on DFM, DFA, and DFC.
- Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities on existing instruments while maintaining performance, quality, and safety standards.
- Perform comprehensive impact analysis of design changes regarding manufacturing processes, unit costs, risk management, and design verification.
- Define technical requirements and test protocols, ensuring traceability and supervising design verification activities.
- Investigate clinical complaints and production non-conformities to lead root cause analysis and manage corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications
