People & Operation Manager

About the role

As the first People hire at Zeit AI, you will own the end-to-end recruitment process, onboarding, and HR operations as the company scales. You will work directly with the founders to build foundational people processes, ensure compliance with German and UK employment law, and foster a strong company culture. This role is essential for shaping the team and ensuring a professional, efficient experience for all candidates and employees.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end recruiting including sourcing, screening, scheduling, and candidate follow-up
• Prepare offer materials and manage employment contracts through to signature
• Design and execute onboarding processes for new hires
• Oversee payroll, benefits, and insurance administration
• Maintain HR systems, employee records, and people-related data
• Ensure compliance with German and UK employment law
• Manage visa and relocation processes for international hires
• Design performance management and feedback processes
• Organize team offsites, events, and office operations
• Automate repetitive People Ops tasks
