About the role

Platform engineering at Polar involves building and evolving the systems that power the product, ensuring they remain fast, resilient, and simple as the company scales. The role focuses on infrastructure, backend systems, and the application layer to support global payments, billing, and financial workflows. Engineers will work on foundational systems, platform primitives, and automation to enable the broader engineering team to move faster.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve systems to ensure high availability, performance, and resilience as traffic grows.
• Improve cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code, and environments.
• Enhance observability, debugging, deployments, and incident response to ensure safe production operations.
• Create primitives, abstractions, and automation to remove operational toil.
• Translate financial and regulatory requirements into robust technical systems with auditability and data integrity.
