Senior Project Engineer

About the role

The Senior Project Engineer supports Menhir Photonics' growth and execution of advanced laser technology projects. This role combines technical project and program management with hands-on R&D and laser engineering. The successful candidate will structure and drive complex technical development activities while contributing expertise in laser physics and optics.

Responsibilities

• Plan, structure, coordinate, and execute strategic technical projects and programs including internal development and customer projects.
• Define work packages, milestones, deliverables, and reporting mechanisms to translate objectives into actionable engineering activities.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary work across R&D, mechanical and electronics engineering, product development, and manufacturing.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and bottlenecks, and support mitigation plans to maintain momentum.
• Coordinate technical discussions and alignment with customers, industrial partners, and research institutions.
• Contribute directly to advanced laser systems, ultrafast laser technology, and optical system design.
• Analyze complex technical problems, conduct experiments, and implement engineering improvements to support product industrialization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in physics, laser physics, photonics, optics, electrical engineering, or related discipline
