Senior Software Engineer

About the role

The appliedAI Initiative is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to help shape the future of AI in Europe. You will focus on the engineering discipline required to make AI solutions production-ready, building robust software around AI cores. You will work within a team to design technical approaches, establish development standards, and ensure solutions are operable in enterprise IT landscapes.

Responsibilities

• Designing the technical approach for a system slice, from build and test through deployment and operation
• Shaping development workflows, including CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and release management
• Building services, APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure as code using Python and Azure
• Making solutions operable in enterprise IT landscapes by focusing on observability, security, and cost transparency
• Providing specialist guidance and conducting design and code reviews to raise engineering standards
• Communicating technical trade-offs and architectural decisions to senior client stakeholders
