Senior Design Engineer

About the role

Front is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to bridge the gap between design and engineering by evolving their design system. You will be responsible for building reusable components, shaping design-system architecture, and creating the tooling and patterns that enable product teams to ship high-quality UI faster. This role requires a balance of Figma proficiency and frontend engineering expertise to maintain a living, production-quality system.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Front’s design system across Figma, Storybook, and production code.
• Build, refactor, and maintain reusable, accessible, well-documented UI components.
• Identify and reduce design/code drift across existing component libraries and legacy UI patterns.
• Establish patterns, conventions, and guardrails that improve consistency, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Prototype new interaction patterns and reference implementations in code to help teams align quickly.
• Partner with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to define enterprise-grade product experiences.
• Use AI tools to accelerate prototyping, iteration, and system maintenance.
