Senior Design Engineer

About the role

Front is looking for a Senior Design Engineer to bridge the gap between design and engineering by evolving the company's design system. You will own the connective tissue between these disciplines, building reusable components and creating the tooling and patterns that make high-quality UI easier to ship. This role involves working across Figma, Storybook, and production code to ensure consistency and accessibility across a mature, complex product surface.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Front’s design system across Figma, Storybook, and production code.
• Build, refactor, and maintain reusable, accessible, and well-documented UI components.
• Identify and reduce design/code drift across existing component libraries and legacy UI patterns.
• Establish patterns, conventions, and guardrails to improve consistency, accessibility, and maintainability.
• Prototype new interaction patterns and reference implementations to help teams align quickly.
• Partner with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers to define enterprise-grade product experiences.
• Use AI tools to accelerate prototyping, iteration, and system maintenance.
