About the role
The Head of Management Accounts will lead the Financial Control team, overseeing the quality and integrity of management accounts, balance sheets, and month-end processes. This role involves managing senior finance managers, acting as a key point of contact for cross-functional projects, and providing technical accounting expertise to support business decisions. The position reports to the Group Financial Controller and serves as a critical escalation point for complex accounting judgements.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor the Financial Control team, delegating effectively while maintaining high standards of delivery.
- Manage cross-functional projects with Legal, Commercial, Product, and Technology teams to document and implement clear business positions.
- Oversee the month-end process, ensuring balance sheet integrity, timely reconciliations, and high-quality reporting.
- Act as a subject matter expert for external reporting, IFRS compliance, and internal controls, liaising with auditors as necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement and automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and enhance output quality.
- Partner with FP&A to manage cost budgeting and provide commercial insight to business stakeholders.
