Staff Engineer AI

About the role

Plancraft is building an AI-first software platform to support tradespeople by automating administrative tasks. As a Staff Engineer, you will act as an individual contributor to shape the technical foundations, architecture, and engineering practices for agentic-first product experiences. You will work across teams to ensure AI capabilities are reliable, observable, and scalable while mentoring other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement AI-enabled product capabilities that function reliably at scale.
• Shape architectural direction and engineering standards across multiple teams.
• Design data models and semantics to turn operational data into actionable context for AI workflows.
• Influence engineering practices, tooling, and evaluation standards for AI development.
• Mentor engineers through collaboration, architectural guidance, and code reviews.
