Team Lead Analytics & Forecasting

About the role

The Team Lead for Analytics & Forecasting will own the forecasting stack for a short-term algorithmic trading desk, ensuring the accuracy and availability of production-grade inputs. This role involves developing statistical and fundamental models to assess European power markets and providing data-driven insights to support trading decisions. The successful candidate will lead a team of 5-7 analysts and data scientists, fostering their technical and personal growth while collaborating across departments.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete forecasting stack for the short-term algorithmic trading desk including prices, fundamentals, and renewable generation.
• Deliver production-grade, probabilistic forecasts directly into optimisation and bidding algorithms.
• Develop and implement analytical, statistical, and fundamental models to assess European power and renewable markets.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of 5-7 analysts and data scientists.
• Collaborate with Trading, Portfolio Management, Sales, and Product teams to develop cutting-edge services.
• Create reports and benchmarks to provide actionable insights for trading and senior management.
