Staff Software Engineer, Infotainment HMI Systems

About the role

The Staff Software Engineer for Infotainment HMI Systems will provide hands-on technical leadership for complex embedded software and hardware/software integration. This role involves shaping architectures that connect vehicle hardware, embedded operating systems, and user-facing behavior into reliable products. You will work across current and next-generation vehicle platforms to guide projects from early architecture through production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop, and maintain embedded software across hardware interfaces, operating-system services, middleware, communication paths, and applications.
• Lead technical design discussions and translate ambiguous requirements into clear interfaces, ownership boundaries, and delivery plans.
• Evaluate and optimize constrained systems for CPU, memory, power, latency, and fault handling.
• Guide the integration of hardware-linked behavior across software and hardware components.
• Lead complex software and hardware investigations and drive end-to-end validation using laboratory equipment and simulators.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve dependencies and mentor engineers on architecture and trade-offs.
