Staff AI Engineer

About the role

Shift is seeking a hands-on Staff AI Engineer to serve as a technical anchor for their AI capabilities. This role involves designing, prototyping, and scaling modern AI and LLM systems while shaping the company's broader AI engineering strategy. You will work closely with data scientists and product leaders to ship production-grade AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and build production-ready agentic workflows and custom orchestration layers.
• Integrate AI prototypes into robust, production-grade microservices on Azure.
• Implement next-gen AI standards including Model Context Protocol, advanced RAG patterns, and vector pipelines.
• Establish operational frameworks for LLMOps, including experiment tracking, evaluations, and model observability.
• Mentor engineering squads, lead technical design reviews, and set coding standards.
