About the role
Harmattan AI is seeking a senior individual contributor to own the analog power chain end-to-end for autonomous defense systems. You will lead power electronics design from MOSFET commutation simulation through PCB layout to lab validation, serving as the technical reference for the Lausanne engineering hub. This is a hands-on role focused on shipping hardware for propulsion, airframe, and embedded systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead motor-controller and DC-DC topology across fixed-wing, multicopter, and hybrid UXV platforms.
- Own the analog switching design including dead-time tuning, gate shaping, and thermal trade-offs.
- Deploy full-stack simulation using analytical loss budgeting, transient SPICE, and system-level modelling.
- Design three-phase inverters with integrated current sensing and protection.
- Lead schematic and layout for high-power-density PCBA with a focus on thermal, parasitics, and EMC.
- Drive pre-compliance, filter design, and root-cause debug under flight-representative loads.
- Take motor-controller PCBAs through revision discipline, DFM, and qualification.
- Execute bench characterization and reconcile results against simulation.
