Senior Power Electronics Engineer

About the role

Harmattan AI is seeking a senior engineer to own the analog power chain for autonomous defense systems. You will lead the design and development of motor controllers, gate drivers, and DC-DC stages from simulation through PCB layout to lab validation. This role focuses on shipping hardware and unblocking propulsion and embedded teams to support multi-platform deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead motor-controller and DC-DC topology across fixed-wing, multicopter, and hybrid UXV platforms.
• Own the analog switching design including dead-time tuning and gate shaping.
• Deploy full-stack simulation using analytical loss budgeting, SPICE, and system-level modelling.
• Design three-phase inverters with integrated current sensing and protection.
• Lead schematic and layout for high-power-density PCBA with a focus on thermal and EMC engineering.
• Drive pre-compliance, filter design, and root-cause debug under flight-representative loads.
• Take motor-controller PCBAs through revision discipline, DFM, and qualification.
• Execute bench characterization and reconcile results against simulation.
