Manager, Software Engineering (Identity)

About the role

The Identity team is mission-critical to the customer checkout experience, responsible for KYC, user lifecycle management, and identity decisioning for markets outside North America. As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a team of engineers while shaping the technical strategy for Affirm's core Identity platform. You will partner across product, design, and analytics to drive initiatives that build customer trust and support international expansion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a well-balanced team of engineers by setting clear expectations and providing direct feedback.
• Own the team’s technical strategy and multi-quarter roadmap, aligning it with major experience initiatives.
• Empower the tech lead and engineers to maintain high design and quality standards through hands-on support.
• Manage the availability, reliability, and performance of consumer-critical systems, including on-call and incident response.
• Drive alignment across multiple organizations and influence roadmaps on partner experience and foundational teams.
• Partner across Product, Design, and Analytics to build trust and participate in cross-functional efforts.
