Jira Architect

About the role

As a Jira Architect, you will own the end-to-end Jira environment across the company's Product and R&D organizations. You will design a master structure to standardize how teams plan and track work, ensuring Jira serves as a reliable source of truth for engineering coordination. Additionally, you will leverage AI and automation to reduce manual administrative tasks and improve reporting as the company scales.

Responsibilities

• Design a master Jira architecture across all projects including hierarchy, issue types, workflows, fields and permissions.
• Audit existing projects and interview Product and R&D leads to map team workflows.
• Standardize workflows while preserving team autonomy and migrate teams onto the common structure.
• Build standard templates to enable new team or project onboarding in hours.
• Deliver portfolio views and dashboards to provide leadership with cross-team visibility.
• Automate triage, summaries and reporting using Jira automation, scripting and AI.
• Manage governance including admin rules and the cleanup of unused projects, fields and schemes.
• Connect Jira with the wider stack including Confluence and ERP/PLM tools.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Jira admin or Atlassian consultant
