About the role
You will define the hardware identity and physical safety of humanoid robots, ensuring they are safe and intuitive for human interaction. This role involves packaging complex internal systems, developing the ecosystem around the robots, and managing the transition from physical models to production-ready CAD. You will work closely with founders and engineers to bring designs from initial sketches to physical reality.
Responsibilities
- Define the visual identity, proportions, and surfaces of humanoid robots.
- Design for passive safety by managing clearances, pinch points, and contact surfaces.
- Integrate complex internal components including sensors, cameras, and cooling systems.
- Develop physical human-machine interaction cues and status signals.
- Create the design ecosystem for charging docks, transport cases, and maintenance gear.
- Build physical models and translate them into production-ready CAD for engineering.
- Select materials and finishes while managing supplier feasibility and costs.
