Staff Software Engineer - Product Security

About the role

Maven Clinic is a virtual clinic for women and families, partnering with employers and health plans to provide end-to-end health programs. The Staff Software Engineer will lead security platform engineering, automation, and application security initiatives to support the company's mission. This role involves designing scalable infrastructure, implementing Zero Trust principles, and collaborating cross-functionally to ensure secure-by-default design patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable infrastructure supporting HIPAA, SOC 2, and ISO 27001 compliance
• Build and maintain systems for identity, authentication, and access management
• Create self-service security tools that integrate with developer workflows
• Lead threat modeling and security architecture reviews for new products and services
• Partner with product and data teams to embed secure-by-default design patterns
• Contribute to incident response, post-mortems, and continual improvement of security posture
• Act as technical authority for security engineering and mentor peers
