About the role
The Infrastructure Engineer will take ownership of the health, performance, and security of customer environments across Microsoft Azure and on-premises infrastructure. This role focuses on preventing avoidable issues, resolving complex technical problems, and ensuring new solutions transition smoothly into live service. By working across service desk, cyber security, and project delivery teams, the engineer will transform infrastructure support into a proactive service that provides long-term value to customers.
Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day health of customer infrastructure across Azure and on-premises environments.
- Maintain secure configurations, access controls, and patching standards across supported platforms.
- Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure incidents and diagnose issues across servers, storage, virtualization, networking, and cloud services.
- Plan and deliver patches, upgrades, and maintenance activity with appropriate change control and testing.
- Maintain backup, restore, and disaster-recovery readiness across customer environments.
- Identify practical ways to make customer environments more stable, secure, and efficient.
- Collaborate with service desk, cyber security, and project teams to ensure infrastructure changes are supportable.
