Engineering Manager - Data processing Engines

About the role

Workato is seeking a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for core internal infrastructure and developer-facing systems, including evaluation engines and data processing components. This role involves managing experienced engineers, driving planning and execution across interconnected initiatives, and collaborating with product managers to define technical roadmaps. The ideal candidate will balance technical leadership with people management to foster an autonomous and high-performing team environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop experienced engineers through regular 1:1s, performance management, and career development.
• Lead team capacity planning, hiring, and onboarding processes.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and leadership to define product roadmaps and feature priorities.
• Own planning and operational execution across multiple engineering workstreams, managing dependencies and timelines.
• Identify and remove blockers to ensure timely delivery while balancing new development with technical debt.
• Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and architecture proposals to provide guidance and challenge assumptions.
