Staff Software Engineer - Databases SRE

About the role

Grafana Labs is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the SRE team and support high-value Grafana Cloud customers. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability of cloud databases including Mimir, Loki, Tempo, and Pyroscope. You will partner with product engineering squads to design automation, manage SLOs, and lead incident response for complex customer environments.

Responsibilities

• Partner closely with product engineering squads
• Own production reliability for high-SLA and complex customer environments
• Design and implement automation to scale reliability practices
• Ensure customers meet SLO targets and define reliability models
• Serve as a primary escalation point and on-call for incidents
• Lead customer-impacting incident response and post-incident reviews
• Contribute to design documentation and code reviews
• Influence feature design to ensure production scalability and operability

Qualifications
