Member of Technical Staff, Intelligence - Functional Genomics

About the role

Substrate Bio is a stealth startup building infrastructure for biological data generation. This role owns the analysis of functional genomics data, working closely with scientists to design screens, process multimodal readouts, and build scalable analysis pipelines. You will be a key partner in ensuring data quality and traceability from experimental design through to hit identification.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with scientists on experimental design for perturbation screens
• Perform QC, guide assignment, and differential expression analysis for CRISPR screens
• Build and maintain image-based profiling pipelines for Cell Painting
• Integrate proteomic, transcriptomic, and imaging readouts using robust statistical methods
• Develop reproducible, versioned analysis pipelines in collaboration with the software team
• Present analytical results, including uncertainty and QC metrics, to leadership

Qualifications

• PhD in genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics or a related field
• Master’s degree in genomics, bioinformatics, computational biology, statistics or a related field with two to three years of relevant experience
