Senior Java Backend Developer

About the role

New Monday is a remote UX/UI agency seeking an experienced developer to build secure, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions for the statutory health insurance sector. You will design and optimize Java-based microservices, manage event-based communication, and oversee containerized applications. The role involves translating business requirements into technical solutions and ensuring high software quality through automated testing and CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize Java backends and microservices using Spring Boot.
• Manage REST APIs and event-based communication between distributed systems.
• Translate business requirements and user stories into technical solutions.
• Refactor code and optimize data access and system performance.
• Support the operation of containerized applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes.
• Implement security requirements including authentication, authorization, and data protection.
• Ensure software quality through automated tests, code reviews, and error analysis.
• Improve monitoring, logging, and tracing for production environments.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of experience with relational databases and Spring Data JPA
