Head of Finance

About the role

Accurx is seeking an interim Head of Finance for a 12-month maternity cover to lead the finance function and enhance commercial reporting. The role involves overseeing core financial operations, treasury, and compliance while acting as a strategic business partner to commercial teams. The successful candidate will drive margin improvement initiatives and work with data teams to automate reporting processes.

Responsibilities

• Elevate the finance function by improving reporting capabilities and standards.
• Develop core trading metrics to provide leadership with visibility into progress and risk.
• Oversee accounting, financial operations, treasury, compliance, annual audits, and forecasting.
• Act as the lead finance partner to the commercial team to influence decision-making.
• Lead margin and cost optimization initiatives.
• Collaborate with the data team to automate reporting and reduce reliance on spreadsheets.
• Manage and mentor a team of two direct reports.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
• Experience operating at a Finance Director, Head of Finance, or senior FP&A level
• Experience in a mature-stage B2B SME scaling between £30m and £200m
