Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a qualified Accountant to join our team and manage a high volume of compliance work for newly incorporated limited companies. You will act as a technical reviewer, signing off on work prepared by team members and managing your own workload against statutory deadlines. This role requires a commercial mindset and the ability to work efficiently within a fixed-fee practice environment.

Responsibilities

• Review and sign off work prepared by team members including PAYE, VAT, payroll, and RTI submissions.
• Review year-end statutory accounts prepared under FRS 105 and FRS 102, along with related corporation tax returns.
• Review Self Assessment tax returns for company directors.
• Prepare complex or non-standard accounts and returns as needed.
• Manage an independent review queue, prioritising by statutory deadline and risk.
• Provide constructive feedback to preparers to improve team quality.
• Review bookkeeping and bank reconciliations in Xero to ensure accuracy.
