Head of Security

About the role

Tremendous is seeking its first Head of Security to own and define the company's security posture. This is a player-coach role where you will initially perform hands-on security work while partnering with engineering to drive implementation and eventually build out a security team. You will report to the VP of Engineering and be responsible for managing security across production infrastructure, code, and company culture.

Responsibilities

• Own Tremendous' security posture end-to-end, partnering with the engineering team on production infrastructure and code security.
• Assess security gaps, prioritize them, and tackle high-leverage issues.
• Treat incident response as a core function to ensure breaches are contained and managed effectively.
• Drive security as a cultural shift across the company by working collaboratively with teams.
• Lead the company's AI-security posture, managing risks while enabling the use of AI tooling.
• Define staffing requirements and hire a security team as the function matures.
