Senior Privacy Engineer

About the role

DuckDuckGo is seeking a Senior Privacy Engineer to join their remote-first team and lead complex projects across company-wide objectives. You will own major components of privacy technology, ensuring product developments align with privacy principles while mentoring other engineers. The role involves designing systems for search indexes and AI features, building privacy-focused features, and participating in review and audit processes.

Responsibilities

• Design systems for improving search indexes and AI features without compromising user privacy
• Build new features on top of the Tracker Radar crawler to detect emerging privacy threats
• Implement and maintain privacy features such as Web Tracking and Email Protections
• Participate in privacy review and audit processes to ensure alignment with privacy principles
• Mentor other engineers to support their career growth and the growth of the Privacy Team
