Data Engineering Senior Manager

About the role

The Senior Engineering Manager will lead teams of employees and consultants to build scalable data pipelines that power business intelligence, analytics, fraud detection, and operational reporting. This role involves defining technical strategy, driving platform governance, and managing team performance while ensuring platform reliability and cost-efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, build, and continuous improvement of scalable data pipelines, Lakehouse architectures, and data products on Databricks and AWS infrastructure.
• Manage up to 9 data engineers and 5 consultants, including hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, and career development.
• Plan and prioritize the team's work to balance discovery, platform investment, and operational tasks.
• Own production health, SLAs, and incident response while resolving cross-team dependencies.
• Resolve data architecture gaps and align technical decisions across teams to drive platform coherence.
