Senior Data Engineer

About the role

Glimmer is a Berlin-based digital health start-up that provides expert knowledge and support for families from pregnancy through early parenthood. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will own the design and maintenance of the company's data platform, replacing legacy systems with a modern, scalable data warehouse. You will play a key role in ensuring data quality, security, and accessibility to support decision-making across the Marketing, Product, and Finance teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python and PostgreSQL
• Own and evolve cloud data infrastructure on AWS, balancing performance, reliability, security and cost
• Manage the end-to-end engineering of automated insurance invoicing pipelines
• Build and maintain ingestion pipelines connecting product, web, CRM and advertising platforms
• Develop and maintain integrations with internal and external tools via REST APIs
• Design and implement data models and warehouse schemas to support business reporting and analytics
• Implement data quality, testing, monitoring and alerting systems
• Ensure data handling complies with GDPR and health data privacy requirements
