Lead Accountant

About the role

As Lead Accountant, you are responsible for financial reporting, closing, and controls for the Swiss entity in Visp while supporting other Swiss entities. You will drive the development of internal control systems, financial reporting, and ERP processes while providing functional leadership to the accounting team. This role requires working on-site at the Visp facility at least three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Hold overall responsibility for monthly, quarterly, and year-end closings under the Swiss Code of Obligations and prepare group consolidation.
• Support the transition to international accounting standards and manage reporting under IFRS or US GAAP.
• Manage relationships with statutory auditors and coordinate group-wide audits.
• Own the concept, build-up, and development of the internal control system, including risk-control matrices and documentation.
• Define key controls and segregation of duties within Finance and the ERP system.
• Drive the development of record-to-report processes in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and prioritize automation initiatives.
• Provide functional support and coaching to accountants and ensure deputizing across sites.
