About the role
The Financial Accountant is responsible for end-to-end financial accounting and compliance activities for assigned markets. This role ensures accurate and timely month-end close, statutory and tax compliance, audit support, and balance sheet integrity. The position collaborates with various finance functions and external advisors to deliver high-quality financial information and drive process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for assigned markets.
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and accounting adjustments.
- Maintain balance sheet integrity through timely reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies.
- Manage indirect tax compliance activities including VAT/GST and support corporate income tax filings.
- Prepare annual statutory financial statements and coordinate local filing requirements.
- Act as a primary contact for external and internal auditors.
- Collaborate with Commercial Finance, Payroll, AP, AR, and Treasury to ensure data accuracy.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and automation.
