About the role
As a Senior Web Compatibility Engineer, you will be the resident expert on identifying and resolving website compatibility issues across DuckDuckGo's browser platforms. You will own the web compatibility triage process, debug complex third-party code, and lead incident responses when major sites break. This role involves building durable fixes and developing automated tooling to improve the browsing experience for millions of users.
Responsibilities
- Own the web compatibility side of the triage process
- Debug complex issues in third-party code
- Distinguish between site bugs, browser bugs, and privacy protection-induced breakage
- Lead incident response when top sites break
- Ship durable fixes across Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android platforms
- Develop agentic tooling to automate repetitive work and reproduce site breakage
