About the role
Forward Deployed Engineers act as the technical lead in the sales cycle, partnering with Account Executives to drive technical wins. You will design solutions, build demos and POCs, and serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers while helping define the regional sales strategy. This role bridges the gap between customer needs and product development, requiring both deep technical expertise and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical side of the sales cycle including discovery, solution design, demos, POCs, and technical objection handling.
- Run the technical side of account expansion by identifying new use cases and turning them into evaluations.
- Build working demos and prototypes on the Exa API tailored to specific customer use cases.
- Translate technical capabilities into narratives for CTOs, engineers, and product managers.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor by answering complex questions and managing evaluations rigorously.
- Provide feedback from the field to the product and engineering teams.
- Scale regional operations by building reusable demos, integration patterns, and playbooks.

Qualifications
