About the role
Lupa is seeking its first in-house General Counsel to build the legal function from the ground up. The successful candidate will own commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance as the company scales internationally. This role requires a pragmatic leader to partner with product and engineering teams to support rapid growth in the AI-driven veterinary health space.
Responsibilities
- Build the legal function from scratch and own all commercial contracts and regulatory compliance.
- Negotiate enterprise SaaS contracts, partner deals, and vendor agreements.
- Lead data privacy and security compliance across UK GDPR, EU GDPR, and US state privacy laws.
- Navigate the regulatory landscape for AI-powered clinical tools in veterinary and healthcare markets.
- Support the board and leadership on corporate governance, equity matters, and fundraising processes.
- Manage international employment law and oversee the company's IP strategy.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to ensure compliant deployment of AI features.
