About the role
The Critical Operations Technician ensures the data center operates smoothly and efficiently 24/7/365. This role involves the inspection, operation, and maintenance of all mechanical and electrical equipment associated with the facility. Technicians work in a demanding team environment and are expected to possess strong troubleshooting abilities.
Responsibilities
- Perform operational, preventive, and corrective maintenance on all mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Conduct daily and weekly routine inspections on critical equipment, rooms, and systems.
- Monitor, respond to, and act on alarms from Building Management Systems and Electrical Power Management Systems.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems by interpreting diagrams and schematics.
- Carry out isolation and reinstatement of electrical, cooling, fire alarm, and gas suppression systems.
- Manage and react to emergency situations involving critical equipment.
- Maintain accurate logs of completed and pending work in the Facility Management System.
