About the role

Netholabs is seeking a Neuroscientist to join their research team in Brighton to drive experiments from design through analysis. The role involves designing and running in vivo electrophysiology and behavioural experiments, working with large-scale datasets, and partnering with the machine learning team to translate biological findings into neural foundation models. The goal of the work is to advance AI, robotics, and personalised intelligence while reducing the reliance on animal models in scientific research.

Responsibilities

  • Design and run in vivo electrophysiology experiments in animal models
  • Develop and refine neural recording protocols and rigs alongside the hardware team
  • Ensure recordings meet the quality and fidelity standards our models are trained on
  • Design behavioural paradigms that generate rich, well-controlled datasets
  • Plan and oversee data collection sessions, in collaboration with technicians
  • Iterate on experimental design based on data quality and downstream modelling needs
  • Analyse large-scale neural and behavioural datasets
  • Build and apply computational models to characterise neural and behavioural dynamics
